My name is Magda Maas, and I am a 57-year-old ex-couch potato turned Zimba Chippie from Pretoria.
I used to hate exercise, but I was given the opportunity to take over the Montana branch at a time when I was at my highest weight and lowest fitness level ever! Not a coach bone in my body… yet it transformed my life completely.
I learned that when it comes to running or walking, consistency is far more powerful than intensity. One long, exhausting session here and there won’t change your body or your mind much—but showing up again and again, even when it’s not perfect? That’s what transforms you.
Consistency quietly rewires everything:
Your body adapts—your lungs and muscles become more efficient
Your energy stabilizes—you don’t just feel good during exercise, but throughout your day
Your mind strengthens—discipline replaces motivation
Your identity shifts—you stop trying to be someone who exercises… and you become that person
It’s not about speed. It’s not about distance. It’s about rhythm.
Even a simple 20–30 minute walk, done regularly, will outperform a once-a-week “all-out” session every time.
And here’s something beautiful: consistency builds trust with yourself. Every time I show up—even when I don’t feel like it—I’m telling myself, “I keep my word.” That confidence spills into every other area of my life.
I’ve already experienced this—I didn’t lose 14 kg through intensity alone, and I’ve kept it off for a year. No more yo-yo for me! That came from steady, faithful steps, over and over again. That’s something to hold onto.
It is now my mission to show others that, in a community of like-minded individuals, you can achieve these results—and we will cheer you on!
