The FitSlim Challenge has become one of the most popular weight-loss and fitness challenges in South Africa. The annual challenge hosted by Run/Walk For Life and eatForLife gives participants the opportunity to lose weight and get fit with the help of the Run/Walk For Life exercise programme, and the personalised eating plans and weekly health talks and newsletters from the eatForLife dietitians.
While the competition is extremely popular amongst existing Run/Walk For Life members, it also servers as a great introduction to the fitness programme for non-members. For those who are not ready to commit to a long-term fitness programme, the 8-week challenge is the perfect opportunity to explore the health benefits of the Run/Walk For Life and eatForLife programmes.
Winners of the FitSlim Challenge are determined by a percentage of their weight loss, as well as the amount of Run/Walk For Life sessions they attend during the 8-week period.
This year, 19 people will share prizes worth R150 000.
Run/Walk For Life, with the help of The Social Media Company, has pulled out all the stops to ensure a decent range of prizes for this year’s challenge.
As has become tradition, ASICS and FUTURELIFE® have again signed up as sponsors for this year’s challenge. Sports apparel distributor Tifosi Sports is not only sponsoring prizes to all the winners, but is also giving away Compressport products in the build up to the challenge.
A new partnership was also formed with Bionic Hair & Beauty Studio, which has become one of the main sponsors of this year’s challenge.
The winners of the FitSlim Challenge will also receive a variety of accommodation and holiday prizes, thanks to incredible sponsors like SentiNET Technology, The Oyster Box Hotel, Milly’s Restaurant and Accommodation, Birds on a Rock, Sandstone Sleeper Estate, Lomas Creek Country Cottages, Ons Dorpshuis Guesthouse and Deo Volente.
Indaba Hotel, Conference Centre & Mowana Spa, is a well-known establishment among Run/Walk For Life members in Gauteng, and is sponsoring 3 spa treatments, dinner, accommodation and breakfast for two people.
In Gauteng, Rosebank Management District, T2 Designs, Kendra Dykman Biokinetics and Our Movement Studio have all joined as FitSlim 2019 sponsors. Their contributions are greatly appreciated.
The two winning teams this year will be spoiled with prizes, ranging from ASICS vouchers to Takealot vouchers, sponsored by Sandton Group of Schools, and VR boxes, sponsored by telecoms company, Smartcom.
The popular Janpap Braaipap is another fun sponsor that joined the challenge this year, together with Optom-Eyez Optometrists in Fourways, Flordis, The Genie Carpet & Tile Cleaning Service, Edition Sports and Flocup.
This year’s prizes have makeovers galore, to go with the winner’s new body. These makeovers are all thanks to sponsors like Love for Hair by Andre M, Nail Systems International, Salon Lamey Hair & Beauty, Hair & Beauty – Uitenhage, and Sasha International.
Some of the winners will then have their new looks captured by incredible photographers like TG Photography, Picture This Photography and Myburgh Photography.
